Legal Intelligencer, National Media
Play Catch-Up

Today's Law.com national digest (free registration may be required) carries a Legal Intelligencer article about the possibility of Michael Chertoff being named Attorney General, but it's five months late.

I'm constrained to point out that I wrote an OpEd for the Washington, D.C. Examiner in April, and I think at least one other publication, which present many solid reasons why Mike Chertoff should be running over and running the Department of Justice yesterday.

Forget politics. Think justice. No one else in the U.S. has the legal and street cred to restore whatever vitality, legality, or professionalism many people believe has been missing at the DOJ.

And, if Rudy get's the nomination and wins, Mike used to be his First Assistant U.S. Attorney. Maybe he'd stay on in a Guiliani administration.
