Google: Stop Recycling Internet Garbage With Blog Search

If drug-sniffing dogs alerted to every garbage can in the U.S. law enforcement would have a tough time ferreting out illegal drugs.

An analogous situation now is occurring with Google Alerts, in this case Blog Searches, and it's very annoying.

I activate and deactivate a large number of Google Alerts to help flag pages/postings that could relate to a client, a public case I am onworking (an old wire service term) or a case in the works.

But somehow meshuggas (or geniuses) have figured out a way to create nonsensical, automated blog posts filled with links, fooling Google to drive unsuspecting users (like me) to this gibberish. These landing pages have ads on them. All three just received have Amazon.com ads.

All of these look like they are posted via Blogger, so why can't Google adjust its algorithms to pass by posts that are meaningless and automatically close down the babbleblogs they are hosting for free?

Developing and executing legal media relations strategy for attorneys representing whistleblowers in qui tam matters under state and federal False Claims Acts is one of my specialties. When a case is expected to have regional or national importance I've been the "go-to" person for qui tam whistleblower lawyers from several states and this year alone my clients have resolved matters totaling, in aggregate, more than a half billion dollars.

So, it's natural for me to keep an eye on "qui tam" in Google alerts. In the past month I've begun to receive many junk Google Alerts. Look at one of today's alerts, from which I've hopefully removed all hyperlinks and any unsavory wording:
